Mummers in Seal Cove, Christmas 2013.

Mummering is an age-old tradition in Newfoundland that involves people dressing up in disguises and visiting homes. When people visit the homes, the homeowners are expected to guess their identity.  Until they can guess their identities, they often feed them fruitcake, rum, Purity syrup mixed with water and cookies.

Old barn near Sackville, NB

I took a picture of this barn while out for a bike ride near Sackville. It was a warm summer day and all I could hear was some loose metal flapping in the wind and a scatter cow mooing in the distance.

A fishing shed or store in Seal Cove, White Bay.

This is an ink sketch of a fishing shed in Seal Cove.  I wanted to show how the shape of wooden can change with age.  I also wanted to show the contrast between light and dark in the sketch.  This was taken from a picture taken a couple of years ago.
